Our Story
The seeds were planted for Nature Bay to be created on the 4th of July, 2006. My husband, Elton, went rock climbing in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado when he encountered a tiny, green-eyed yellow lab puppy. He immediately dropped to his knees to greet the puppy. Elton soon discovered that the puppy was for sale, which brought an urgent phone call to me. As soon as I looked into those puppy’s eyes, I knew she was meant to be a part of our family. On that 4th of July, our lives changed forever! On the ride home, we named her Bay to reflect the bay leaf color of her eyes.  Bay immediately become an integral part of our lives, joining Elton at work at his construction company and playing with me in the evenings. I wanted only the best for our little loved one, so I started researching the best food for dogs. I discovered that domestic dogs have the same internal digestive system as wild canines and therefore needed raw meat. Since my family raises all-natural longhorn cattle, we had an abundance of high quality meat in our house to share with Bay. At first, Elton was not happy about sharing his meat with his furry companion, but has since understood the importance. I started mixing the meat with organic carrots & brown rice to create a balanced meal. Bay is an extremely healthy and happy dog that has only been to the Vet for her basic shots and necessities. In February of 2007, I had decided it was time to share this food with other dogs so they could be as healthy and happy as Bay. When the pet food recalls of April 2007 were announced, I felt the urgency. I immediately joined forces with Circle Arrow Longhorns (our family ranch that provides all-natural beef for human carnivores) and began to make high quality dog cuisine filled with love for all dogs to enjoy.
