Circle Arrow Longhorns - All-Natural, Lean Longhorn Beef

Roy with Grand DaughterCattle were never meant to eat grain. Nature made these animals to graze on grass and forage, not to be crowded into feedlots and be fed corn and soy. Our cattle are raised on a completely free-range pasture with ready access to clear, cold water pumped straight out of the ground.

The Longhorn breed of cattle is the oldest and purest form of cattle in America. The Angus and Herefords are considered an English breed of cattle. The English breeds look very fat and full because they have heavy strips of fat that run down each side of the backbone. More fat in the body essentially produces more fat in the meat. Longhorns do not have this extra strip of fat and the meat from Longhorn cattle is very marbled, yet lean and delicious.

Circle Arrow Longhorns offers the consumer the advantages of the grass-fed beef along with the advantages of Longhorn beef.

Naturally Higher in Omega 3s

Grass-fed beef contains higher levels of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, conjugated linoleic Acid (CLA), Beta-Carotene and Vitamin E, than other grain-fed counterparts. All of these nutrients are believed to benefit the body’s defenses against cancer and cardiovascular disease.

All-Natural vs Organic

Our beef is certified all natural. This means that our cattle are fed a diet of 99% pasture grass or hay forage. They are given no artificial hormones or antibiotics. To be considered an organic beef producer, all the diet consumed by the cattle needs to be certified organic as well. In raising our cattle, we work very hard to ensure that our practices are as close to organic as possible.

Discover the healthy difference…

Grass-fed beef is naturally leaner than grain-fed beef, but our Longhorn beef is even leaner yet with test results showing that it is less than 2% fat.

Grass-fed beef has the recommended ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 fats (3:1.)

Grass-fed beef is loaded with other natural minerals and vitamins, plus it's a great source of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) a fat that reduces the risk of cancer, obesity, diabetes, and a number of immune disorders.

"Lean beef is good for you - and the key word is lean. A heart patient can eat steak every meal if it is in the right proportions. Longhorn meat on the average, contains 10 percent less saturated fat than that of other cattle. That puts lean longhorn beef on par with skinned boneless white meat of chicken and that fact may come as a surprise to many dieticians."
